Apply this Principle to Make 2012 Your Best Health Year!

It’s that time of the year when people think about their new year.  Brand new exciting goals are planned.

Those extra pounds from holiday indulgences are frowned upon and resolutions to exercise are planned.

Why do most people fail to execute their New Years Resolutions?  Anyone who has ever worked in a gym can tell you, January is PACKED and then gym attendance tapers off as we go deeper into the year.

Why do these resolutions fail??  You have good intentions.  Unfortunately, most people we see in our office are applying an out-gradient principle.  This is easily fixable.

What is a gradient principle?

Gradient means a gradual increase or decrease.  If you are trying to improve your health and want to eat healthier, the worst thing you can do is immediately cut all of the bad foods out of your diet.  You could probably keep up this strict diet for 2 or 3 weeks, maybe even months, but then BOOM…you are back to your old eating habits.  Back comes the weight you lost and down goes the self worth.

Applying the gradient principle you would increase your health and keep healthy for the long haul.

How do you apply this principle?

For example, say you LOVE chocolate chip cookies.  You are Cookie Monster and you eat 40 cookies per week.  The next week you would gradually decrease the amount of cookies to maybe 38.  The next week you improve to 36, then 34, 32 and so on.

The next thing you know the cookies don’t even look good anymore.  You can apply this principle to anything you want; sugar, cigarettes, alcohol, sodas, etc.  Of course for optimum health you would see your Nutrition Response Testing practitioner to improve your health via eating REAL FOOD and Whole Food Supplementation.

Take hold of 2012 and make it the BEST year of your life!

Yours in a Health and wishing you a GREAT 2012!
